FREELAND SPIRITS will be serving a special new product and selling bottles of our fine spirits at NW Marine Art Works' (NWMAW) 3rd Annual Open Studios This unique complex showcases some of Portland’s most innovative artists and artisans.
NWMAW, a Ken Unkeles project, is home to 75 art studios and 100 plus artists in residence: working in painting, ceramics, photography, sculpture, dance, theatre, crafts, jewelry, textiles, wood and metal.
Visiting artists from other art studio buildings including the North Coast Seed, River St. Studios and Carton Service Building will take up temporary residence, helping represent the current state of Portland’s fine art community.
Come enjoy live music, pizza, tacos and ice cream food carts, plus beer, wine, coffee, chocolate and spirits from neighboring businesses: Sasquatch Brewery, Boedecker Cellars, and Equal Exchange.
Children are invited to play putt-putt golf, cornhole and create their own wonders at the kids’ painting table. Families with train-lovers of all ages will be able to go across the street to Staver Locomotive and watch the model trains steam around the property.
It may seem at times like the arts are under siege, but this remarkably vibrant event demonstrates how alive the Portland art scene is and why it is worth our while. Join up. Bring your imagination and come on down for a shot of weekend creativity.
