This class will be a full sensory educational experience of distilling and blending whiskey.
Molly will guide participants through a sensory exploration of Freeland Bourbon and discuss how to blend a perfect whiskey. Freeland Bourbon is a blend of 3-year old bourbon, 3-year old bourbon finished in Elk Cove Pinot Noir barrels, and 12-year old bourbon. Participants will taste each of the components individually and understand why the combination of the three creates a delicious, complex bourbon.
Molly will also educate participants in the production of Freeland Rye, which won't be released for years, after its had plenty of time to age to barrel perfection. She'll explain the full process, from sourcing grain, mashing, fermenting, and finally, distilling.
The class will end with two bourbon cocktails and food pairings in the beautiful Freeland tasting room.
